COBI’s Curator of Innovation

Magdalena is a marine biologist with a Master’s in Marine Ecology from the Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE), Mexico and is currently the Curator of Innovation at Comunidad y Biodiversidad (COBI). In the last three years, she has focused on identifying, documenting, and mobilizing those solutions that coastal communities are doing to build resilience and foster sustainable oceans. Also, she has been involved since 2016 in the process of designing and implementing marine conservation projects hand by hand with fishing communities in Mexico. Her role in the TEMPO project is to assist work in Mexico's temporary marine reserves and fish refuges, including attending fieldwork with fishers and marine reserve evaluation.
