Temporary closures have existed for thousands of years. Peer-reviewed publications started documenting them in the late 1990s. TEMPO is conducting a systematic literature review of all peer-reviewed texts about temporary closures to summarize lessons learned and answer our research questions at a global scale.
Needs of Systematic Literature Review
- It's unclear how temporary reserves have been observed scientifically
- We want to test our questions against existing case studies
- Team members search for social-ecological characteristics in published literature
Goals of our Review Process
- Systematically collect publications
- Identify knowledge gaps that we can address with fieldwork and modeling
- Understand where and how scientists have studied temporary reserves
